My Mom Gwen Roberts Gavey tells us stories of when she was a young girl living at Cap-Bon-Ami and watching ships being sunk by German U-boats. The owners of the cabins were Garlands. Mom's sister once went into a shed and saw what looked like signaling lights and was told by the Garlands to never go into the shed again. They left in about 1942 and later was arrested in New Mexico under the name of Fisk as being German spies. Do you guys have any more details about this. Also, any details about a German spy being arrested in New Carlisle???
