It is with great pride that the Kempffer Cultural and Interpretation Centre inaugurates this fall’s “Concerts at St-Andrew’s”. With this series of three classical music concerts, which are part of the Centre’s fund raising activities, Heritage New Carlisle aims to promote talented musicians who are beginning their careers as professionals, as well as offer quality, affordable concerts all year round to the inhabitants of the area.
This first edition will begin on Sunday, October 2nd, at 2:30 p.m., with a concert by Martin Pelletier, pianist. Born in New Carlisle, Martin has an innate talent. He started learning the piano at the tender age of five, and then went on to study at the Conservatory of Rimouski. Now he is perfecting his skills at the University of Montreal, where he will complete his Masters degree this year. In July 2011, during an internship in Prague, in the Czech Republic, Martin had the chance to meet with many European teachers. Next summer, he will have the opportunity to continue his professional development in Vienna, Austria. It is a must to come see and hear Martin Pelletier play the piano, an experience which promises to be unforgettable...
The 2011-2012 “Concerts at St-Andrew’s” will continue with a second concert on Sunday, January 8th, and a third one on May 6th, always held at the St-Andrew’s Anglican Church in New Carlisle, an enchanting setting which has become well-known for its high quality acoustics.
It is the donation of a piano to Heritage New Carlisle, the organization that founded the Kempffer Cultural Centre, which sparked the creation of this yearly event. Indeed, thanks to the great generosity of an anonymous donator, following an agreement with the managers of the Anglican Church, Heritage New Carlisle is now the proud owner of the superb Knabe Baby Grand Piano, which is now installed at St-Andrew’s.
The St-Andrew’s Anglican Church is located at 175 Gérard-D.-Levesque, New Carlisle.
