A popular Gaspé tradition is back again this year and organizers are gearing up for the upcoming summer event known as the Douglastown Irish Week.
Organizers of the week-long festival, which takes place at the Douglastown Community Centre (28 St. Patrick Street) between August 1 and 7, already have a number of interesting and entertaining events in store. These include lectures in English and French on local Irish history, genealogy, folklore and music; live performances by fiddlers and other Celtic musicians; a fish cake supper; a market; a mass; and much more.
