Holy Name Hall of Douglastown has been selected as one of the 10 finalists eligible to win a $30,000 prize offered by the French TV station Historia.
Holy Name Hall, which is at the heart of the history of Irish cultural life in Douglastown, is the only heritage building selected on the Gaspé Coast. Historia TV's annual contest is designed to help a community save a heritage building. The winner will be announced on December 17, 2011, and will be determined by popular votes received by December 16, 2011. The rule is one vote per person (or e-mail address) per day from November 18 to December 16, 2011. Every vote counts!
