larger_gbhv_0.jpgThe Gaspesian British Heritage Village will launch a community visual arts project in January 2013.

Three renowned artists, Nathalie Boissonnault, Yves Gonthier and Ruben Komangapik, will take part in the program. Each artist will teach a 12 week course aimed at community members from different generations and cultures. To encourage collaboration between the diverse groups, participants will express what they have learned about each other through the creation of a piece of 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional art.

The finished artwork will be displayed at the Gaspesian British Heritage Village throughout the summer, as well as featured in a publication with photographs taken by Estelle Marcoux Komangapik. There is a charge of $100 per participant to help cover the cost of materials. The project is supported by funding from Canadian Heritage, CRÉGÎM and the Town of New Richmond.
