The lighthouse. (Photo - S. Guay) This splendid former lighthouse is a great place to admire the view of the ocean, and possibly see some whales. For those on organized trips, a visit is a relaxing experience. Inside, you will find the bilingual interpretation of the lighthouse's history. The museumalso tells the story of the "paper mill" in the 1920s. A souvenir shop is housed in one of the old guard houses. The site is anideal place to take a coffee break and check your messages on the Internet. In another building,visitors can get everything they need to go salmon fishing, such as a permit, rights of access and guide services.

Special Activities:

Eleven kilometres away in the forest, the Madeleine River tumbles 25 metres. Here, the salmon go through an underground fish-pass cut in the rock, which is the only one of its kind in the world. The salmon spawning run takes place from early July to the end of September, with the raising of the cage daily at 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
